Day 1:
Arrival in Izmir
You are
met at the airport by a Fortis Travel
representative and transferred to your hotel.
Day 2:
Izmir-Ephesus-Izmir
Visit Ephesus, the most complete archaeological
ruin in the Mediterranean. The city is dedicated
to the Goddess of Artemis, whose temple is one
of the Seven Wonders of the World. Then visit
the Ephesus Museum, the basilica of St. John and
the house of Virgin Mary.
Day 3:
Izmir-Ankara-Cappadocia
Morning flight to Ankara. Visit the captivating
museum of Anatolian Civilizations. After lunch
continue on your journey to mystical Cappadocia.
Day 4:
Cappadocia
On day 4, explore Cappadocia with its
extraordinary chimney-like rock formations. Tour
Goreme with its rock churches decorated with
frescoes. Then visit the Byzantine monastic
complex of Zelve and the village of Avanos,
which is famous for its traditional pottery.
Day 5:
Cappadocia-Istanbul
In the morning, visit one of the many
underground cities of the region, Kaymakli, or
Derinkuyu where the early Christians sought
sanctuary to escape persecution. Fly to Istanbul
in the afternoon.
Day 6:
Istanbul
In the morning visit the two masterpieces of
Byzantine era, Chora and St. Sophia. Then visit
Topkapi Palace, the Blue Mosque, Hippodrome and
the amazing underground cistern.
Day 7:
Istanbul
Relax with a cruise on the Bosphorus on your
last day in Turkey. In the afternoon, explore
the famous Grand Bazaar.
Day 8:
Departure
Transfer to the airport for your flight back
home.
